Blockchain, Design Thinking, Facilitation & Flamenco with MSD Associate Director, Alexandru Popa

Download it: MP3 | AAC | OGG | OPUS

In this episode, i had the pleasure of speaking with Alexandru Popa, the Associate Director of Blockchain for Pharma Supply Chain at MSD. We discussed the link between MSD and blockchain technology and how this innovative technology is being used in the pharmaceutical industry to gather and record data.

Alexandru shared with us how Design Thinking can be a useful approach for implementing new technologies, especially when there is no framework or use case available. He also emphasized the importance of having an external facilitator to guide teams through the process of innovation and highlighted some of the benefits of facilitation as an essential skill in a company.

We delved into some common misconceptions about meetings and explored ways to make them more meaningful, whether online or face-to-face. We also discussed some tips and tricks for keeping engagement high in remote sessions.

Overall, this was a fascinating conversation about the intersection of blockchain technology, design thinking, facilitation, and Flamenco, and we hope you found it as insightful as we did. Thanks for tuning in!

"Mastering Workshop Design & Facilitation: Avoiding common Mistakes" with Dee Scarano

Download it: MP3 | AAC | OGG | OPUS

Every facilitator knows that facilitating a workshop does not start on the day of the workshop. The design of the workshop is an important phase where the right questions need to be asked, the underlying objectives of the client need to be detected, the participants of the workshop need to be taken into account.
So where to start when designing a workshop, what to pay particular attention to and what mistakes to avoid.

In this episode, I have the pleasure to chat with my friend Dee Scarano. Dee is from Australia and lives in Berlin. She used to work in product design until she discovered her passion for facilitation with the design sprint process. She is a highly skilled innovation coach, collaboration consultant and workshop facilitator. She was one of the famous faces on the AJ&Smart youtube channel and now works as a freelancer.

Facilitators, if you want to learn what common mistakes are done by most of us and how to avoid them, Dee and I gave you some insights with concrete examples of how to do it.

- Where to start by designing a workshop
- Donโ€™t follow the recipe if it donโ€™t fit to the clientโ€™s need
- But donโ€™t skip crucial steps of recipe when these are absolutely necessary to reach the goal

Helping people solve complex problems in a playful manner with Manuel Grassler

Download it: MP3 | AAC | OGG | OPUS

**WRAP-UP**

Isn't it the most beautiful job in the world to enable people to play?

Talking about that:
Don't we forget to play when we grow up, even though it is the most normal thing in the world when we are children? I go even further: it would be disturbing if a child could not play.
So what happens to our creativity if we don't give it the space it needs?

Today I welcome Manuel Grassler, a playful thinker, a playpreneur. His mission is bringing playful methodologies into the business environment and helping people solve complex problems with a playful manner.

Manuel is a workshop facilitator and trainer for methods such as lego serious play, playmobil pro or card-based tools, among others.

In this episode you will learn

- What the difference is between game and play
- How a facilitator can bring his participant to adopt a playful thinking
- What the benefits are of such an experience for the participant?

3 Takeaways from Rebecca Courtneyโ€™s first workshop

Download it: MP3 | AAC | OGG | OPUS

In this new episode, I talk to the lovely Rebecca Courtney.

She is a facilitation coach at AJ&Smart, whose CEO is no other than her brother Jonathan.

She is currently working on a new facilitation course which will be launched in December and has an interesting background, having started her career in education as a teacher.

I first met Rebecca online, as she facilitates the bi-weekly Master Workshopper programme community calls, and I also had the chance to meet her personally in Italy at the exclusive event organized by AJ&smart in Italy.

In this episode, we talk about the following.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Her background as a teacher and how she stepped out of her comfort zone to take on a new challenge as a facilitation coach.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Her role as a facilitator for Workshopper Master community calls.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป How she suddenly started to love the research work (which she didn't like that much in the past) for the preparation of the new facilitation course, which AJ&Smart will launch by the end of the year.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป And how her first workshop went in front of 50 highly skilled facilitators and her learnings from that experience.
